Response to Lead Blog Post #4

First of all, I really liked the title of the blog. It meshed nicely with the rest of the blog and the theme the blog had to portray, and it was a nice change of pace instead of seeing the typical "Lead Blog" post title, (it doesn't mean that my lead blog post won't be titled "Lead Blog" but it was still nice to see something different.) The content of the blog regarding The Big Lebowski seemed very interesting as well. The Big Lebowski revolves around some guys that end up in a whole situation all because of a rug. However, as Zach said, it is much more than that. While Zach makes it obvious that the movie is brimming with superiority, incongruity, and relief humor, the part that I like the most is the fact that the movie resonates with such a large audience. The Big Lebowski covers many genres, such as western, comedy, and a detective/ who-dun-it-like theme. Additionally, the fact that Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski is so relatable and laid back provides a nice change of pace from the other events within the movie. He also shows people that it's a good thing to be laid back and provides humor and comedic relief while doing it. The fact that the characters in the movie consistently use words such as "like" and "um" and "well" add another layer to the movie. It portrays the characters as more human, more relatable to the viewers, because, while it is considered a small detail, it draws a big similarity between the characters in The Big Lebowski and the viewers. While it is usually overlooked, most actors speak in perfect grammar, unless a character is supposed to have a speech impediment. The fact that they all speak like normal people heightens the integrity of the movie. The Big Lebowski seems like an amazing film that I hope to watch soon.
