Even though I am almost 19 years old, I was only introduced to superhero movies this past May. More specifically, I was introduced to the world of Marvel this past May. The first Marvel Movie I ever watched was Avengers Infinity War, and while I was a little confused with the backstory at first, I fell in love and proceeded to watch every movie related to the Avengers (in the proper movie timeline, of course.) After I finished that, my best friend told me about how Deadpool was created by Marvel but just in a different universe. Since I loved all the Marvel movies so far, I decided to give Deadpool a try. I absolutely loved it. While Deadpool has all of the characteristics of a great Marvel movie, it has other qualities that make it stand out on its own as a masterpiece. One thing that makes it different from the other Marvel movies is how it is more comedic and breaks the fourth wall. Right from the beginning of the movie, Deadpool is talking to us, the viewers, directly. He frequently enacts the theories of relief theory and even benign violation even more. A great example is within the first minutes, Deadpool asks us about how we're wondering whose balls he had to fondle to get his own movie (Wolverine's). While most people would view this as wildly inappropriate, Deadpool fans realize this to be his sense of humor. His dirty sense of humor comes out at the most random times. For example, in the shootout with the bad guys, in the beginning, Deadpool gets them all to pause long enough for him to inform them all that he has a red suit so the bad guys can't see him bleed. It is the random, inappropriate humor mixed in with the classic action brought with all Marvel movies that make Deadpool an instant classic,

When talking about humor, countless people bring up The Office as a prime example. Having only seen one or two episodes myself, I do not completely understand why it is so popular. However, as my friends and other acquaintances have seen it and attempted to explain the humor, I have begun to understand why exactly The Office is so popular. Some of the main characters such as Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute provide instances for comedic relief. Dwight embodies the comedic theory of superiority humor, as he believes himself better than the rest of his coworkers and pulls shenanigans to prove his superiority, which instead backfires and provides comedic relief to the viewers. One instance that I have actually seen was when their company was learning how to perform CPR in case of an emergency. When discussing the topic of Vampires, most people relate them to somber, dramatic movies. Think of Twilight or The Vampire Diaries . In both examples, the vampires and their acquaintances are faced with grave dilemmas that significantly impact their daily lives. Edward Cullen tried to expose himself because he knew he couldn't be with Bella as a human, and Stephan Salvatore ended up sacrificing his life at the end of the series to protect everyone. Thus, one could imagine my surprise when realizing that Matt's blog on comedy was a movie about vampires. Having not seen the movie myself, I subsequently looked up some clips from the movie to get a better grasp of the movie. The scenes I did watch, the Basghetti Scene, the Slaves Scene, and the Werewolves not Swear Wolves Scene, all show strong evidence of relief and incongruity humor. Crazy Ex-girlfriends are something society often talks about. Whether the girl is actually crazy or not, men always talk about their "crazy" ex-girlfriend. With today's society, there is not a set definition as to what makes someone a crazy ex. It could be that they talked about you after, they blocked you on social media, or they started posting excessively on social media showing how much fun they're having to try and make the other feel bad. Depending on the other ex, these actions could be deemed as crazy. Now, with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, what exactly makes Rebecca crazy? While Julia does an excellent job explaining the plot of the show and how it is funny, I still don't get how exactly Rebecca is a "crazy" ex-girlfriend. In the music videos I watched, "Face Your Fears," and "Settle For Me," Rebecca seemed like the normal person. In fact, it was her friend and the guy in both videos that seemed crazy.
